The Project aims to investigate and track the adaptation and transition on Chinese learning of NCS students from Kindergarten to Primary one with special reference to the curriculum, teaching materials, pedagogies, assignments, assessments etc; to diagnose the needs and difficulties encountered on NCS students’ Chinese learning at primary one; to review the supports provided by schools (kindergarten and primary) and their parents on NCS students’ adaptation at primary one especially on Chinese Language learning and its effectiveness; and to make recommendations on school-based support strategies to assist the NCS students in adapting to Chinese language learning at primary one with reference to the research findings.
