Han-characters shared in a variety of forms among a number of Asian languages constitute a unique linguistic phenomenon. Hanja is taught in Korea, kanji in Japan, Chinese in Mainland China and Singapore learn simplified hanzi while Chinese in Taiwan and Hong Kong learn their traditional Chinese characters. This Conference aims to bring together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from different Asian countries to foster international knowledge exchange and research collaboration on Han-characters education and research. Building upon accomplishments and successes of the thirteen conferences, the upcoming conference will be held in the University of Hong Kong in mid of January 2025.

「全球學生閱讀能力進展研究」（Progress in International Reading Literacy Study，簡稱PIRLS）由國際教育成就評價協會（IEA）主辦，每五年一屆，旨在評估、比較並追蹤全球小四學生的閱讀表現，並探討影響閱讀表現的各項因素。2026年起，PIRLS將全面數碼化，線上閱讀其中兩大特點是「多文本」與「多模態」。
