(2) Research on Han characters: including history, philology, theoretical studies, annotation, graphemic analysis, etc.

(3) Research on Han characters and linguistics: including characters and the uniqueness of Chinese, Chinese characters and mindset, research on character-based language theory, character-based and Chinese teaching in international context etc.

(4) Classical Chinese / ‘Hanmun’ education: including educational theory, teaching materials, pedagogy, assessments etc.

(5) Other related areas
