30 Jun 2024: Abstract submission deadline (Online submission)
Abstracts (including title and keywords) should be written in English or Chinese. If it is written in other language(s), please accompany a translated version in either English or Chinese. The title, name of the presenter, and presenter’s affiliation must be provided in both English and Chinese. Word limit: 600.
The abstract should summarize the purpose of the study, research methods, major findings with evidence(s) / example(s).
Please submit the abstract through our Online Submission System (http://kces.asia/cams/2024/03/ihercall/) by the submission deadline for review.
15-16 Aug 2024: Notification of abstract acceptance
The review result of abstract proposals will be sent to the participants via email.
After completed online registration, the system will send you an email notification (Title: Acknowledgment on 第十四屆「漢字與漢文教育國際研討會」) with a link to access/check the submitted information of your online registration.
Our Center will send a separate email to confirm your registration as soon as possible. An official invitation letter, together with a payment link, will be sent to participants via email within 7 working days. Applicants shall make payment on or before 31 October 2024, or else shall be assumed to forfeit. After payment has been made, a receipt will be issued and emailed to participants immediately. (Online payment through UnionPay, VISA/MASTER credit cards, FPS, WeChat Pay, and AlipayHK/AlipayCN are acceptable.)
Participants who pay on or before 30 September 2024 (Hong Kong Time) can enjoy Early Bird Rates.
Refund arrangement: If you need to apply for a refund, please send your request with strong justification to us via email (cacler@hku.hk) on or before 30 November 2024. If your refund request is accepted by the Conference Secretariat, half (50%) of the fee will be refunded to you as soon as possible. No refund request will be entertained after 30 November 2024.
31 Oct 2024: Payment Deadline
Registrants are required to settle the conference registration fee (payment link together with invitation letter had been issued within 7 working days through email after completion of online registration) by 31 October 2024 to guarantee the inclusion of your presentation in the conference program rundown.
30 Nov 2024: (Optional) Full paper submission deadline *
Participants (First authors) can submit full papers to online submission platform (Link~Link~) by 30 November 2024.
Word limit: 6,000-8,000
"Outstanding Paper Award for Research Students" and "Outstanding Paper Award for Young Scholar"
The Conference will establish two awards, "Outstanding Paper Award for Research Students" (the contributors are research students) and "Outstanding Paper Award for Young Scholar" (the contributors are Associate Professors or below), in the two major areas of "Teaching and learning of Han Characters and Chinese Language" and "Han Characters and Chinese Language Research". Participants (First authors) are required to submit full papers to online submission platform by 30 November 2024. The paper format can be referred to Full Paper Submission Guideline <Download~Download~>.
~ If the papers you submitted are only contributed to compete for the awards but not for publishing in our conference proceeding, please specify in the online submission platform. The link to the paper submission platform will be announced online later.~
Early career researchers and research students are cordially invited to participate!
* Accepted presenters may submit full papers via online system by the above-mentioned deadline and they will be included in the Conference Proceedings. Please observe the Full Paper Submission Guideline to prepare your papers. Please note that the submission of full paper is not a mandatory requirement. The paper should be your original work, except where due acknowledgment is made, that has not been previously published.
** The abstract(s) will be published in CNKI(中國知網). Presenters who don't want to publish should indicate on your online registration form.
