The 14th International Conference on Han Character Education and Research was successfully conducted in the University of Hong Kong on 16-19 Jan 2025.

The series of International Conferences on Han Character Education and Research is a long-term cross-border joint research collaborations since 2011, with over 10 cross-border academic units from Mainland China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, Poland and Hawaii.

20 papers were submitted to compete for the Outstanding Paper Awards. Each paper was reviewed by two reviewers from Beijing Normal University and HKU.

The conference attracted more than 110 researchers and scholars to attend and more than 90 papers (incl. 71 oral reports, 18 graduate theses, and 4 posters) were presented. Over 88% of the participants were scholars and researchers from outside Hong Kong, including those from mainland China, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Macau, Vietnam, the United States, the United Kingdom, Poland, Portugal, etc.

Postgraduate Student Forum

18 papers were presented at Postgraduate Student Forum on 16.1.2025.

According to the 21 feedback questionnaires received out of 112 conference participants, the average ratings given to our evaluation form’s Q1a (The Conference has enriched my knowledge on Han-Character teaching approaches.) and Q1b (The academic sharing and exchanges at the Conference have inspired me in the teaching and research of Han-character and Chinese language) were 3.67 and 3.62 respectively, out of a maximum of 4.
